Alex Stenzler, President
Alex Stenzler brings more than thirty years of clinical and commercial experience in pulmonary medicine.
Before founding 12th Man Technologies he was Vice President of Advanced Technologies for CareFusion 207, Inc., (VIASYS, Cardinal Health), where he worked for two decades. He was also the president of a respiratory research and development firm in New York, and directed various pulmonary physiology laboratories and respiratory care departments in New York and Florida.
Alex has been the principal investigator for various NIH and DARPA studies, and served on steering committees for randomized controlled trials in high-frequency ventilation, inhaled nitric oxide and liquid ventilation. In addition, he has held several academic appointments, including assistant professor at the State University of New York at Stonybrook, and enjoyed a twelve-year tenure at the Graduate School of Adelphi University.
He has published numerous papers and abstracts, been an invited speaker at many national and international congresses, and holds more than a dozen U.S. technology patents.
Steve Han, Vice President, Engineering
Steve Han brings more than 20 years of experience in medical and consumer product development, such as respiratory critical care and diagnostic technologies, infusion pumps and disposables, handheld insulin delivery systems, sterilization equipment, and 3D rapid prototype printers. His métier further includes general and electro-mechanical design, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, with strong credentials in FEA and CFD analysis.
He also has significant experience in the application of FDA, CGMP, GQR, and ISO regulations, an extensive background in R&D, product development, manufacturing, equipment and assembly design, along with injection molding for plastic and silicone.
Steve has worked with many medical companies, such as CareFusion (formally Cardinal Health), Johnson and Johnson, Abbott Laboratories, and Philips (formally Respironics).
A Provost’s Honors graduate, Steve earned a B.S. in mechanical engineering from the University of California, San Diego, and currently has 16 released medical and consumer product patents, with 10 pending.
William “Bill” Ross, Senior Vice President Business Development
William Ross began his 30-year career in healthcare technology as an executive for SensorMedics Critical Care.
Initially involved in the sales and marketing of their respiratory care product lines, he later drove major business development efforts and guided several key acquisitions in the U.S. and Europe. Ascending to the position of president, he shepherded the organization through acquisitions by Thermo Electron and the subsequent spin-off of VIASYS Healthcare, where he served as interim CEO and later COO.
Mr. Ross holds a B.S. in electrical engineering from the University of Idaho, and an M.S. in biomedical engineering from Washington University. Prior to joining SensorMedics he worked on nuclear medicine imaging technology and electronic circuitry development for the automotive industry.
He currently serves on the board of directors of several privately held corporations.
Valeri Davila, Manager Quality Assurance
Valeri Davila began her career as an electrical engineer supporting the AEGIS combat systems in the United States Navy on cruisers and destroyers. This was followed by eight years in quality assurance working for several medical device companies.
She has a BS in Electrical Engineering with a focus on Bioengineering from Purdue University and an MS in Systems Engineering from the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, CA. She holds a certification from ASQ for Internal Auditing for ISO 13485 and is trained in integrating risk management into the quality system, design control FDA and ISO, software verification and validation strategies, and GLP. Her expertise is in support of quality system and product development through project oversight, design and documentation review, risk management, testing, data collection and analysis, problem solving, verification and validation, internal and external auditing, training, notified bodies, and reporting.
